Clannad: After Story is the second season of Clannad and is based on the visual novel Clannad by the software company Key.  It is a sequel to the first season of Clannad and is followed by the third season of Clannad: Final Chapter. It is a heartwarming story about hope, family, and friendship. The story takes place in a rural town called Okazaki and begins with Tomoya Okazaki a delinquent who is cynical about life and dislikes people. He has no friends and his only companion is the kind and shy Nagisa Furukawa who he has known since childhood. The story follows Tomoya as he discovers the meaning of family through the people he meets at the high school he reluctantly attends.

Kyoto Animation launched Clannad: After Story, the follow-up to their highly praised slice of life series Clannad. The sequel brings together familiar faces while bringing in new ones as well.
